Project Festoon: adhesively attached virtual flight instructor. Idiot's Flight System. (this site about to be updated for psuedochopper project, fxg 5/18/2013, keep the faith)
Let's admit the problems and fix them fast and inexpensively

(Do not rely on anything here for real flight, the information is for example method and unverified for actual use)
Entrant in NASA Pav challenge contest (oops could not raise the cash in the end and did not make it and lost deposit),

GOAL
10 times safer private single engine aviation.
The short term goals which project to long term results are:
"The Instructors need not speak a single word during the entire training and flying process"
"Aircraft are rented with mandatory equipment and oversight analogous to airlines and military"

THE DESIGN FOCUS
Design the product as if a drunk non pilot who steals your airplane, with your daughter onboard, might take off and transit and land without injuries because of the festooned aids that he can't help but notice and use.what? why?

The Proof:
1. Festoon reduces Instructor intercom talking required to achieve student solo by ??%.
2. Simulator Tests with drunk/hypoxic or otherwise impaired persons show a ??% reduction in errors over non festooned simulators.

(C152 work has been estimated, but Cub is a better development platform Experimental/LSA)
Airframe based Component
$50 Paypal button goes here, someday when the concept is in use and on sale.
Adheres expertise onto the airplane where you can't forget it, lose it, ignore it, or have to balance it on your lap.

Ground Component
$50 Paypal button goes here, someday when the concept is in use and on sale.
Adheres expertise to your mind with a model test flight: to listen to in your car, watch on video, read on paper, fly in Microsoft flight simulator.

Less expensive to buy all the bits you need in one purchase than to find them, judge them and pay for them piecemeal. It is less expensive for us to manufacture them, store them and ship them if they are made in the same printing sheet, package etc. and shipped whole.

The Pilot population continues to decline. Visit a burn ward, and the relatives of the dead and you will have to admit: Flying is dangerous, complicated and expensive. Let's admit the problems and fix them fast and inexpensively. Blaming the pilot and suggesting more training has not worked. Layering more computers over unresolved problems may not be effective and is unlikely to change national or international accident statistics given the expense of implementation.
